Good evening,
This set, we have been in and around Fordbridge providing hi-visibility patrols for the safety, comfort, and reassurance for residents. This week, Fordbridge officers held a Cuppa with a Coppa in the Chelmsley wood town centre at Lily’s Tea Parlour. Additionally, you may have noticed officers posted up on the side of Cooks Lane, Yorkminster Drive, and Moorend Avenue with a speed-gun measuring the speed of drivers – this was to provide reassurance and keep everybody’s speed in line with the speed limit. Throughout the two days, we had 300 cars pass us where 15 were above the limit, and were given words of advice.

Officers have also been in and around the town centre engaging with local shops advising them of the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) that is in place and have been handing out leaflets to the shopkeepers who have been putting the leaflets in their windows in an effort to educate everybody of the PSPO.
TOWN CENTRE UPDATES:
Officers have been extremely busy this week with the return of the schools. We have continued to maintain a high-visibility presence across the town centre, carrying out regular patrols and engaging with members of the public. These patrols have not only reassured residents but have also provided us with many positive opportunities to catch up with the community and listen to their concerns around the town centre and ASB and shoplifting which is an issue we are continuing to tackle.
While the majority of the interactions have been positive, we have responded to a small number of incidents involving anti-social behaviour in the town centre, to which we have been quick to respond and further educate the youths on the PSPO in place.
We have noticed over the last few weeks that the PSPO is changing the crime rates in and the area of the the town centre
